Biography

Margaret, daughter of Ephraim McDowell and Margaret Irvine, was born June 12, 1716. and passed away December 16, 1794.[1]

Margaret McDowell married Thomas Gibson Carson around 1734 in Ireland. She and Thomas migrated to America eventually settling in Greene County, Georgia. Their children were:

Margaret passed away in 1794. She is buried among family in the Greensboro City Cemetery in Greene County, Georgia[2]

Slaves

Margaret became a slave owner in her own right when her husband died around 1790. Margaret was bequeathed Nan (bef.1789-).[3]

Is there documentation for her place of birth? Other siblings seem to be born in Raloo Parish, County Antrim, Ireland.

McDowell-3015 and McDowell-1102 do not represent the same person because: Too many discrepancies to match these two profiles, at this time. Needs more research.
