Caroline was born in 1846 near St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. Her family moved in 1850 to near Hamilton, Ontario. They lived there until September of 1855, when they moved to Minnesota. Her family moved several times in Minnesota, but always lived in the vicinity of Little Falls and near the Mississippi River. They eventually settled in Brockway Township of Stearns County in February 1963, fourteen miles north of St. Cloud. They experienced all the hardships of pioneer days including the Indian outbreak. Caroline married Charles M. Hiscock and they had 3 children; Mary Elizabeth, Samuel, and Jennie Lenore. Charles died in 1875 and Caroline was faced with the task of raising several small children.
The years went by, and Caroline married William Gordon in 1881. Caroline and William Gordon lived in Section 33 of Brockway Township and had one child, Alma. After William died, Caroline Gordon lived with her daughter Jennie L. Perry in Section 33 of Brockway Township until her death in 1934. She is buried in Brockway Cemetery.[1]
