Biography
Della was born in Greenville County, South Carolina in November of 1874. She married Martin James Webb, a lumber inspector, in Ellijay, Georgia, on July 21, 1896.[1] Martha and Martin lived in Ellijay, and their first son was born there.[2] The couple moved a bit south, nearer to Atlanta, to Cartersville, where Martin found work as a clerk in a grocery store; their son, James L (bc 1908), was born there.[3] Their son, Buford, was born in Cartersville sometime around 1917. Sometime before 1935, the family moved south, to Lakeland, Florida, where Martin took a job as a traveling salesman, selling dry goods.[4] The son, James, had become widowed and he and his daughter, Martha, age 4, lived with the family.[5] Martin retired, and the couple lived alone in Lakeland.[6][7]
Della died in 1952[8] and is buried at Roselawn Cemetery in Lakeland.[9] Martin died in 1953.
