Biography

in 1835, bought a windmill at Mont Saint, St. Saviours GSY, which had been built in the 1820s by Jean Girard and Thomas Sarre and produced cement of excellent quality. The contract for sale was dated 8 November 1834. On the previous October 1 it had been converted to a corn mill by order of his Majesty in Council. The windmill overlooks the valley in the lower part of St. Saviours and the reservoir which was started before and finished after the last war. Although the mill ceased operations by 1896 the stone tower still stands.
