Biography

Remembering Baby William

William was born September 27, 1828 in Quebec City, Lower Canada and he was baptised September 28th at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Quebec City and at the time, his father made his "mark" while his mother "signed her name" in the parish register. He was the last of 11 children born to John McKechnie and Mary Steed.

Sadly, William died at the age of 4 weeks and was originally buried in St Andrew's Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Remains from that cemetery were later moved to St Matthew's Cemetery in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada (also known as Cimetière Anglican Saint-Matthew).^[1]
