William Stone McLellan, 1797-1879, was born in Maine, the son of Captain Joseph McLellan, Jr. and Rebecca Stone. In 1826, in Fayette, Ohio, William married Margaret Rebekah Wright (1809-1883). They had thirteen children, born between 1827 and 1854. [1]
William McLellan and Margaret Wright were married by a Justice of the Peace on 5 February 1826 in Fayette County, Ohio. [2]
In 1850, the McLellan family lived in Union Township, Fayette, Ohio. The oldest eight children were in school. The family included
