Jill was educated at Cooerwull Primary School and Lithgow High School. Her working life was spent as a stenographer firstly with United Insurance Company and then Transport and General Insurance Company. Her interests are reading, handcrafts (particularly cross stitch) and genealogy.

A Wedding Report from the Lithgow Mercury reads: WILL LIVE AT MERRYLANDS. A Lithgow couple who were married recently at St. Paul's Church of England will make their future home at Merrylands after they return from their honeymoon at Coolangatta. They are Jill, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. McMillan, of Cupro-street and Donald, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Mills, of Mort-street. The Rev. H. Edwards officiated at the ceremony and the bride was given away by her father. She wore a Chantilly lace and tulle gown, which featured a small collar and long peaked sleeves and her lace skirt, which was trimmed with a triple frill of pleated tulle and formed a train, was cut away in front to reveal a bouffant tulle underskirt. The bride's three tiered fingertip length veil was held in place by a dainty pearl tiara and she carried a bouquet of orchids and gladioli. Both bridesmaids, Misses Jill McQuire and Pamela Morton and the flower girl, Dale King, were attired in identical gowns of pale pink embroidered nylon which featured square necklines and wide sashes. to match their frocks they wore pink curvettes and mittens and carried Victorian posies of pink carnations and blue delphiniums. The bridegroom's brother, Gerald, was best man and friend, Dudley King, of Lithgow, was groomsman. During the ceremony and the signing of the register, popular local artist, Mrs. Margaret Blundell, sang "God Be With Them While They Stand" and "All Joy Be Thine". Mrs. McMillan, wearing a gown of amethyst crepe with biscuit and black accessories and a shoulder spray of orchids, received approximately 100 guests at the Ecole de Danse. Mrs. Mills, who assisted Mrs. McMillan at the reception, pinned a shoulder spray of orchids to her blue faille gown, which was accentuated by white and black accessories. Mrs. Hanmer made and decorated the three tiered wedding cake, which took pride of place on the breakfast table, Chairman at the reception was Mr. Leo Jenkins. the bride's travelling outfit consisted of a turquoise faille dress and jacket trimmed with white guipure lace and highlighted by black and white accessories.

Hi Jill.

I was working on some profiles and came across Frederick Kenneth Roper.

There was no profile manager so i adopted it. Changes tab indicates you created the profile and your DNA is also listed on the profile suggesting your are a DNA relation to Frederick Roper. I was just curious about how you and Frederick connect. My DNA is also listed on his profile i discovered. Frederick's Grandparents were William Henry Roper and Eliza Donohoe who are my 2nd Great Grandparents.

Is your DNA connection through Frederick's father or his mother.

John.

I was going through to view a possible match with my brother-in-law Frederick Taylor and I accidentally hit edit your Taylor. I do not know how to undo my mistake but wanted you to know. They didn't match but somehow I goofed that up.

Hello Jill,

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.
