Biography

John McMullen, (also McMullan) the son of Hugh McMullen, was born about 1785 [1]in Greensboro, Caroline County MD. He died probably on the Eastern Shore of Maryland before 1835, when his daughter Susan was married.

John McMullen was married by a Jesuit Priest 16 May 1808 to Susan Tubman, daughter of Richard Tubman. John and Susan had children:

  • Richard Henry 1813
  • Susan Tubman 1817
  • John Jr. 1819
  • Anna Maria 1820

31 October 1814 John McMullen sells to Richard Tubman for $2000 220 acres: Eastern Island, Granges Island, Wilson's Adventure and 1/6 part of Rotterdam. (JB#2 F466)
