The marriage of Thomas and Margery took place at Deanston, Kilmadock, Perthsire. Thomas was son of Thomas and Agnes m.s. Grant, both deceased, he was a coal miner. David Yeardly and David Sword were the marriage witnesses. The 2nd Taionui was built in 1908 by Workman Clark & Co Belfast for the Shaw Savill& Albion line. Her maiden voyage was on the 12 Nov 1908 from London to Wellington via Plymouth , Tenerife , Capetown & Hobart. On the 8th of April 1918 she was torpedoed & abondoned but was reboarded & sailed to Falmouth Stern first & beached. In 1921 after repairs resumed service via the Panama Canal. Final Sailing for Wgtn 1938. In Mar 1838 sold for scrapping but was acquired by the Ministry of Transport and renamed Empire Trader 21 Feb 1943 torpedoed then escorted by the Corvette HMCS Dauphin to Port but sunk by her the following day when the ship became unmanageable. The Family arrived in Wellington, on the SS "Paparoa" after a voyage of 70 days. London 17 May 1906.
