Biography

Charles was born in 1841 or 1842. He was the son of Baker McNear and Mary Cook. He passed away in 1892.

CIVIL WAR Service Record: Enlisted in the New York 12th Light Artillery Battery on 5 Jan 1862 at Troy, New York. Promoted to Full Private on 6 Jun 1863. Transferred [as Sergeant] to 2nd New York Battalion (16th Company), Veteran's Reserve Corp.on 25 Mar 1865.
