Biography
William came to the USA with three brothers - James, Jack & Charles. Before moving to the USA, they had to leave Scotland and move to Ireland due to some sovereignty problem. Part of the McDougal Clan.
They arrived in Virginia. In 1813 William moved to White County, TN with wife Martha. They lived in a double log cabin close to Sparta, TN, by the Calf Killer Creek. They moved to Macoupin Co., Ill. in 1826. Martha died in 1838. William was accidentally 10-9-1845. He was hauling cord wood, the wagon tipped over and pinned him between the wagon and a tree crushing his chest.
No other information on Martha.
