Biography

Margaret was born 5 January 1849 in Jackson County, Tennessee ^[1] She was the daughter of Charles Meador and his wife Rachel whose maiden name is still unknown.

Margaret appears in the 1850 census of Jackson County with her parents and siblings. ^[2] Margaret is still in the household of her parents in the 1860 census records. ^[3]

By the year 1866 Margaret had married James Rush. They can be found in the 1870 census records of Allen County, Kentucky ^[4] By the year 1880 Margaret and her family had returned to Jackson County, Tennessee where they can be found in the census records. ^[5]

Margaret and James Rush eventually became the parents of 11 children. As shown by the 1900 census records of Jackson County, Tennessee, four of these children had died prior to 1900.^[6]
