Biography

Clara was born on 5 January 1854 in Virginia, USA. She was the daughter of Charles William Means I and Mary Elizabeth (Tyler) Means.

In the 1860 census Clara (age 6) was living in My Division, Mercer, Virginia.[1]

In the 1870 census Clara (age 16) was living in Plymouth, Mercer, West Virginia.[2]

When Clara was about 17 she married Samuel Allen Hunt in about 1872 in West Virginia, USA. The couple had 10 children: Benjamin Harrison Hunt, James Buchanan Hunt, Slyvester Aaron Hunt, Matilda Hunt, Lucy A. Hunt, Georgia Alabama Hunt, Sarah Alice Hunt, Minnie Lee Hunt, Clara A. Hunt and Mary Elane Hunt.[3]

In the 1900 census Clara (age 46) was living in Wayne City, Wayne, Illinois.[4]

In the 1920 census Clara (age 66) was living in Orel, Wayne, Illinois.[5]

In the 1930 census Clara (age 76) was living in Orel, Wayne, Illinois.[6]

Clara was buried after 22 February 1938 in Olive Branch Cemetery Wayne County Illinois.
