Family

A contract was signed on 6 December 1423 between Katherine Duchess-Regent of Mecklenburg and Friedrich I von Hohenzollern, Elector of Brandenburg for the marriage of Heinrich and Friedrich's daughter Dorothea. who was not quite four, having been born on 9 February 1420. If Heinrich was to die before the wedding then she was to marry his brother Johann.

The contract was confirmed 24 November 1427, and re-negotiated on 10 May 1429, which specified the wedding was to take place within 3 years, but it probably wasn't consummated until 1435 or 1436.^[1]

They had seven children:

1. Albrecht VI, born 1438;
2. Johann (VI), born 1439;
3. Magnus II, born 1441;
4. Katherine, born 1444;
5. Anne, born 1447;
6. Elisabeth, born 1449;
7. Magnus II, born 1451.
