Frances Meisel Allen, 87, of Bowling Green died at 9:20 a.m. Dec. 1, 2005, at a Bowling Green nursing home. / The Edmonson County native was the owner and operator of Allen Laundry. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a charter member of the Bowling Green Altrusa Club, a Kentucky Colonel, and a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a master's degree in music education. She was a daughter of the late Edward Meisel and Nora Vincent Meisel and wife of the late Charles Lucian Allen. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vanora Lee Allen; two sisters, Grace Martin and Anna Meisel; a brother, Elmer Meisel; and a grandson, Adam Allen. / Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. / Survivors include a son, Charles Edward Allen and his wife, Judy Smith Allen, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a brother, Charles Meisel and his wife, Sara, of Bowling Green; and a granddaughter, Marie Crosson and her husband, Jay, of Nashville.
