NATHAN MELVIN (also seen as MELVEN) was born on June 25, 1729 in Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony to JONATHAN MELVIN and SARAH HARTWELL. He married ANNA FOSTER after 1752 in his hometown. They were married 27 years and had 11 children together. He served as a Private, Captain, and Sergeant in the Revolutionary War under Captain Thurlo and Colonel Whitney. The family relocated from Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts Bay Colony to Cambridge, Lamoille County, Vermont where he died on January 6, 1807 and was buried at Mountain View Cemetery.
