Biography

Joseph was born about 1813, the son of William Meredith and passed away in 1867.

Name

Joseph Meredith changed his surname to Trulock before the 1840 US Census. Some believe he did this because he did not want to be associated with the other Meredith family in the area. There were numerous men who were born with the name Joseph Meredith, so it's possible that he simply wanted to be legally distinguishable from other men with that name.
