Certificate of a Marriage solomized by Lem Norton: "... Mr. Roger Merrithew of Vinalhaven to Mis Hannah Coombes of Islesborough... Birth of seven children recorded in Vital Records of Islesboro, Maine.

[1884] "Oct. 3, Roger Merrithew, aged 89 years. Mr. Merrithew was born in North Haven, [Maine] and when a boy he enlisted in the War of 1812 and served about two years. He followed fishing and coasting until 1843 when he moved to this town, and lived a thriving and industrious farmer." ...[1885]"Oct. 12th, Hannah, widow of the late Roger Merrithew." page 209 History of the town of Morrill in the county of Waldo and state of Maine : from its first settlement in 1794 to 1887, embracing almost 100 years
