According to Gregory of Tours, Clotilde was abused by her Visigoth husband, Amalric.[1] While some believe that Gregory's religious agenda, filters the actual details,[2] ...we do know that Clotilde tried to go home. But she never made it, and died on the way to France. She was buried next to her father, at Saint Genevieve in Paris.[3]
