Biography

Joseph Merriam was born on March 3, 1696 or 97^[1], the son of son of Robert and Abigail Cutler Merriam of Lexington, Middlesex, Massachusetts^[2]

On 9 Oct, 1718^[3] he married Mary Brewer, daughter of John Brewer Sr and Mary Jones, and they had children^{[1] [2] [4]}, including:

Joseph was the (a?) constable of Lexington in 1738 and "Tythingman" in 1941. He was also listed as an "ensign" of the town militia [no speciic dates]. Joseph Merriam died in Lexington 15 Nov 1745^[5], and is buried in the Old Burying Ground
