Was wounded, stripped & captured by Indians at or near the siege of Fort William Henry in 1757. Escaped & returned after 3 months. Served as a private in the Revolutionary War, first (briefly) in Roxbury March 1776 under Lt. Ephriam Wheeler and Col. Eleazer Brooks, then apparently in NJ under Col. Thatcher.
