Bertha Ashburn, 92, of Ozone, passed away Sept. 7, 2001. Funeral services were conducted Sept. 9 from the chapel of Evans Mortuary, with the Rev. Robert Bowen officiating. Graveside services and interment were Sept. 10 in Ozone Cemetery. Mrs. Ashburn was born Oct. 21, 1908, in Ozone, the daughter of Walter and Zona Webb Miller. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Virginia Aytes, Margaret Ashburn and Sue and A.W. "Curley" Johnson, all of Ozone, and Ann Paine of Bridgeview, IL; son, Willard Ashburn of Berkley, IL; three sisters; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Zona Webb Miller; husband, Dallas A. Ashburn; and son, John Ashburn. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood was in charge of the arrangements.
