Robert was born in East Ayrshire, Scotland, March 4, 1760. The son of Josiah Miller & Margaret Hindman. He married Jannet White, September 11, 1782. He passed away August 12, 1831 in Chester County, South Carolina, United States. He is buried at Old Purity Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chester, Chester County, South Carolina. I do not know where the Josiah came in I have found no records of his name being Robert Josiah. [1]

In the of God Amen- I Robert Miller of the District of Chester and State of South Carolina being weak in body but Sound in maind and Memory Thanks be to God for all his mercies to me but Calling to mind the Mortality of my body and that it is appointed for all men once to die I in the first place Resign my Soul to God who Gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth from whence it Came to be Burried in decent Burrial Order at the discreation of my Executors and with respect to my Worldly Estate which it hath pleased God to Bless me with after payment of all my Legal debts I Demise and Bequeath in the following way and mannar Viz
I give and bequeath to my Son James Twenty Dollars. I give and bequeath to my Son Robert Hindman One Hundred Dollars. I Give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Blackstocks Twenty five Dollars. I Give and bequeath to my Daughter Victory W Paul my Bedsteed Bed and Apparratus and Ten Dollars. I Give and Bequeath to my Daughter Margaret Strain Twenty five Dollars. I Give and Bequeath to my Daughter Jennet Henry Twenty five Dollars. I Give and bequeath To my Daughter Ann G Beggs Twenty five Dollars. I Give and bequeath to my Son John's Daughters Mary Victory and Jennet five Dollars Each, I Give and bequeath to my Son Josiah's Son Samuel five Dollars. I Give and bequeath to my Son James's Son Robert my Selver Watch. Thus having pointed out all that I intend to bequeath at this time if there is any of my Property at my Decease not disposed of let it be divided Equally amongst my legal heirs Lastly I Constitute and ordain my two Sons William and Robert Hindman Executors of this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking all other and former wills by me at any time here-tofore made and ratify and confirm this and none other to be my last will and Testament in Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal This fifteenth day of April AD One Thousand eight Hundred and Thirty one and in the Fiftyfifth Year of the Independence of the United States of America
