Abraham Minchew (or Minshew) was one of the earliest settlers of Ware County and moved here about 1825. He was born in Dobbs County, NC, Oct 12, 1773. He is the son of Abraham Minshew/Minchew of VA. The family moved to Effingham County, GA about the time of the commencement of the Revolution or soon after, and settled in the part made into Screven County in 1793. [2]
