- James Cocke Mitchell was born in 1750 in Augusta Col, Virginia[1] to Elizabeth Harlan, age 30, and James Coffield Mitchell, age 34.
- James Cocke Mitchell married Mary Coffield in Nansemond, Virginia, in 1774 when he was 24 years old.
- James Cocke Mitchell died on September 16, 1830, in Athens, McMinn Co., Tennessee,[1] when he was 80 years old.[2]
