Dorothy E. Carlson, 83, Brainerd, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2005, at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud. She was born on March 18, 1922, in Brainerd to John H. and Hattie Mae (Holbrook) Mohler. She graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1940 and went to Washington, D.C., where she was employed in the casualty branch of the war department during World War II returning to Brainerd after the war. She married Clarence B. Carlson on Oct. 9, 1948, and they lived in Brainerd most of their lives. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Alpha Chapter No. 23, Order of the Eastern Star and of Florence Rebekah Lodge No. 111.
Survived by her nephews, John (Raini) Mohler, Nisswa, and Art (Dona) Mohler Jr., of Centerville, Minn.; her nieces, Pam Plank, of Centerville, Minn., Helen (Paul) Muellner, of Shoreview, Minn., Karalee Miklos, of St. Paul, Bonnie (Mike) Noecker, of St. Paul, and Debbie (John) Grieg, of Motley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years; four brothers, Ralph, Arthur, Herbert and Robert Mohler; and one sister, Idabell Mohler.
Services will be Friday, May 13, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Pastor Andy Smith officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
