Alvah James Monday,93, of Crossville, passed away June 10, 2001. Funeral services were conducted June 13 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery. Special music by the Homesteads Baptist Church choir. Mr. Monday was born Dec. 22, 1907, in Rhea County, TN, the son of James Gaither and Althea Katherine Hayes Monday. He was a farmer, and a member of Homesteads Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army from 1925 to 1928.
