Biography

The daughter of Sarah (Clark) and David Montague,^[1] Irena was born April 27, 1784.^[2]

She married Rufus Hubbard on October 29, 1817, at Sunderland, Massachusetts.^[3] They had three children together, only one of whom, Achsah, survived past early childhood. Children:^[1]

1. Achsah Hubbard, born 15 Dec 1818.^[4]
2. Phila Montague Hubbard, born 20 Jul 1822,^[4] died 27 Dec 1824^[5]
3. Rufus Montague Hubbard, born 4 Oct 1825,^[4] died 6 Sep 1827.^[5]

Irena died at age 49 in Sunderland, Massachusetts, on October 5, 1833,^[1][5] two months before her daughter Achsah's fifteenth birthday. Irena was buried in Sunderland.^[1]
