Biography

Lucy was born on 20 Feb 1865 in Tennessee. She was the daughter of John W. Moore and Martha H. Redd. Lucy passed away in Lauderdale County, Alabama on 3 Jul 1925 and was buried in the Warmack Cemetery, Lauderdale County, Alabama.^[1]

1880 Census: Lucy Ann Moore, age 14, is living in the Lauderdale County, Alabama home of her parents, John W. (46) and Martha H. (39) Moore. Lucy's place of birth is recorded as Tennessee. Also residing in the home are Lucy's siblings Merideth P. (19), William H. (11), Eddie D. (6), and Mary E. (3) as well as a nephew Flemming J. Perry (2).^[2]

1900 Census: Lucy is now 35 and married to Benjamin W. Watson (52). The record indicates that Lucy and Benjamin have been married for 13 years and that the couple reside in the Cross Roads Precinct area of Lauderdale County, Alabama with their children Velmer O. (F/12), Elma O. (F/8), Mary E. (F/6), and Early E. (M/4). Also in the home is Benjamin's son William W. Moore age 18. The record also noted that Lucy was born in Tennessee in Feb of 1865.^[3]

1910 Census: Lucey (sic) Ann (46) and B. W. (62) Watson are living in Center Star, Alabama. Residing in the home are the couples 4 children Bessie (16), Early (13), twins Neely (M/9) and Neder (F/9). Also in the home is B. W. son from a previous marriage, Willima W. (27).^[4]
