Mourning has been detached from Benjamin Moorman and Lucy Haley because no credible sources can be found to substantiate her maiden name, much less her parentage. The current link to Achilles Moorman is also not supported.
The Moorman's were Quaker's who kept very precise records. There is no mention of a Mourning or Morning Moorman or Moreman in any Quaker Genealogy books.
Birth
Mourning was born about 1738, based on the date of the birth of her first child.
Death
She must have died before 1816, as she was not mentioned in her husband's will of 1816.[1] (Note: In reading the transcription of the will of Benjamin Hinson, dated 15 Sep 1813, that is shown in the previous link, it states that "I lend to my beloved wife Mourning Hinson, during her life all my property, both real and personal..... After the decease of my said wife, I ordain that the above mentioned property be disposed of in the following manner-......" There is nothing in the link above that indicates that Mourning died before the will was entered into probate in 1816. BJS[2][3]
