Richard was born at home in Osbourne Road on the 18th March 1916. His father is recorded as being Richard Kingsman and his mother, Edith Morgan nee Dowsett registered the birth on the 12th May.[1]
Edith died when Richard was about two years old and he was brought up by Richard Kingsman's eldest daughter, Sarah Ann [Kingsman] Bridges.
