Revolutionary War Veteran

John "Haton" Morris was born in 1743[1] in Salisbury, North Carolina.[2] He was the son of Thomas Morris and Mary Sorrell.

He married Mary Elizabeth Wilkes in January 1768 in North Carolina[3]. Children of John and Mary Morris:

  3. Reuben Morris (1769-1853)
  4. Jordan Morris (1770-1883)
  5. Jacob Morris (1774-)
  6. Ezekiel Morris (1775-1855)

  9. John Haton Morris Jr. (1785-1845)
  10. Joseph Morris (1787-1853)
  11. Allen Morris Moore (1800-1872) ("Wifes name" he is Not on most trees.)

He served In the Revolutionary War on 30 October 1777, in North Carolina, under Lamb’s Company of Artillery with the rank of Sergeant.[4]

He died in 1820, at the age of 77, in Rutherford, North Carolina, and was buried there in the Morris Cemetery

Morris-15510 and Morris-431 are not ready to be merged because: Needs more research. Too confusing at this time to force a merge. Are Peter and Haton the same person? Same birth date could indicate twins. Same spouse? Stranger things have happened.
