Biography

Henry was christened 17 Sept 1769 in the Moravian Church in Graceham, Frederick County, Maryland; the son of "Leonhard Moser and Sara" [1]He died in 1863 in North Carolina.

1850 US: In Stokes, North Carolina. Henry is a farmer and real estate value is $300. Listed are: Henry Moser, Male, 86,Maryland; John H Moser, Male, 50, North Carolina; Susan Miller, 44, North Carolina; John H Miller, Male, 12, North Carolina. John H. Moser is Henry's son; Susan Miller and her son John H. Miller is not identified (Henry had a daughter Sara/Sally that married Henry Miller, but she is listed in the 1850 census in Indiana with no son named John.)[4]

1860 US: In Stokes, North Carolina. Henry is listed as 100 years old and a farmer; real estate value is $450, personal estate value is $150. In household are: Henry Moser, Male,100; John Moser, Male, 60 (Henry's son); Rebecca Moser, Female, 40 (possibly a daughter of John since Henry's probate mentions a Rebecca Moser as heir of John Moser, Jr.; needs verification). All 3 were marked as not able to read or write.[5]

Death and Probate

Henry died 15 June 1863 in Stokes County, North Carolina, per his probate record. Probate occurred 7 Sept 1866 in Stokes County[6]

Petition of Leonard Moser, administrator for Henry Moser, who died intestate, against Christian Moser, John Moser, Peter Moser, William Moser, Adam Moser, Samuel W Moser, Sarah Miller, Katy Stone, Peggy Moser, Elizabeth Venable, June Venable, Mabin Lineberry and wife Mary Ann.

The above appears to be from a different subpoena than the one in the probate records at FamilySearch.org. It may be needed to clarify the name of husband to Peggy Moser.
