Biography

Milda was born in 1878 in Kentucky to James Mosley and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Hornsby. These were her parents' names per her death certirficate (actually, her mother's name on her death certificate was Elizabeth Horn, rather than Hornsby). The Morris Fork book lists her parents as having sons named Jacob (b. 1865) and John (b. 1886), but she is not listed, rather, she is listed as being the daughter of Jim Mosley and Lizza Sandin.

On the 1880 census, she lived in the area of Magisterial Districts 4, 5, Cow Creek, Buffalo Precincts, in Owsley County, Kentucky.

In this household:
James Mosely Head M 54 Kentucky
Elizabeth Mosely Wife F 56 Kentucky
Milda Mosely Daughter F 21 Kentucky
Malinda Mosely Daughter F 18 Kentucky
Martha Mosely Daughter F 15 Kentucky

She was one of at least nine children, eight of which were still living in 1880.

She married Jeremiah "Jerry" Baker.

They were the parents of Golda "Goldie" Baker, born on August 30, 1908, in Kentucky. There were probably several other children as well.

She passed away in 1975.

She is buried in Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro, Dearborn County Indiana. Plot: A-158-2

Funeral services for Mrs. Milda Baker, 97, R.R. 2, Moores Hill, were held Monday, April 14, at Sibbett Funeral Home with burial in Oakdale Cemetery.

Mrs. Baker died Friday, April 11, at Shady Nook Nursing Home, Lawrenceburg.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Hobert (Golda) Morris, with whom she made her home for the past 19 years; and a stepbrother, Ray Mosley, Ary, Ky.; three grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
