The 1911 Census shows John W., Florence, Herald L., And Stanley K. living together at 11 South Jospeh, Port Stanley, Elgin, Ontario. Stanley is the youngest at only 4 months old.^[5]

Note HI283(Research):My Grandfather John Armstrong married Florence Mowers on May 22 1907 John was

Baptist and Florence was English.

Florence was age 16. He was 24. Her parents were William Mowers and Mary A.

Mildrew. So the story goes, she sent him a "dear John letter" while he was overseas

and he put himself in the line of fire and was killed. Samuel did not have kind words to

say about her.
