Biography
Carrie was born in 1877. Married to medical student, M.M. Brown at age 19. Helped with medical practice in Pepin, WI and Golden, IL before going to India with him as a Missionary under the United Presbyterian Church, North America. Retired from mission field to mountains of Tennessee, lived in Tarkio, MO after his death, moved to Omaha, NE with daughter Helen and Dr. Horace Giffen, M.D., for cancer treatments in late '50s, early '60's. She passed away in 1963. Gravestone says "Missionary Mother" and quotes Ephesians 2:8 'By Grace you are saved, through faith ... [1]
