These days I spend most of my time doing genetic genealogy, blogging, speaking, and helping people with their DNA results. I come to this from a programming background. My paternal ancestry is Norwegian from Hordaland, Kristiansand, and the Drammen area plus Telemark. My maternal ancestry is Bavarian and German Jewish.
I recently retired from my web development business, Open Sky Web Design, http://www.openskywebdesign.com/ which I founded in 2001 shortly after retiring early from corporate life in NYC. I now live in San Diego, CA.
I have been doing genealogy since 1997 - see my family history site - and genetic genealogy since 2012 - see my blog. Although I was collecting family stories all my life.
My biography to date is posted on my genealogy blog as well as on my Bridge Teaching site.
Paternal DNA relationship is confirmed by a 3720 cM match including a full X match between Kitty and her father [[Munson-2239]Larry Munson]
Maternal DNA relationship is confirmed by matches to Kitty's mother's sisters, [[Thannhauser-5]Trudi Beyer] for 1623 cM over 45 segments including including 138 cM on the X and [[Thannhauser-14]Stasi Dunau] for 1676 cM over 45 segments including 172 cM on the X

You and I have some DNA in common, but WikiTree can't find a relationship. My guess is that the connection is Norwegian. I've filled out some of my Norwegian ancestors, but most of them are unconnected to the larger tree. I hope to get some leads from your family.

Relationship finder believes we are 22nd cousins 4x removed through Olaf I (Guðrøðarson) Gudrødsen.
I checked the relationship finder and we're 26th cousins:) We are both descended from Arpadhazi-5 Thanks for all your research! I hope to get DNA testing soon.
It looks like we may be 20th cousins 5 times removed through Olaf II (Guðrøðarson) [Gudrodsson-3] who probably didnt exist or so his profile biography said. Seems like an pretty uncertain relationship to me. It seems to me that I have a lot of uncertain relationships with an amazing variety of people. Otherwise 25 degrees of separation.
37 Degrees from you, S.V. Clark 38203
We're 23 Degrees apart, but we're also 24th cousins once removed ... through Henry 1, King of England! He's a new-to-me ancestor & (ashamed to say it), a new-to-me historical person too.* But I do love what I learn from WikiTree. Loved your interview too, especially the pictures!
Cheers, Liz
* nope, not quite new to me... just didn't recognize him out of context (4th son of William, father of Matilda - as a Brother Cadfael fan, I certainly know all about King Stephen and Empress Maud! I'm going to have fun exploring that connection :)
I love your Blog. Thanks for everything you do. I was wondering if you can tell me how you have so many DNA matches on this page. Were they just the ones you entered yourself or could you add a link to cousins you know you match dna with on here somehow?
