Biography of Nettie D. "Deanie" NASH of 1908

Nettie Nash, born 1908, the daughter of Luke S. Nash and his wife Lula E. Arnold

Nettie Nash was one of eleven siblings:

  1. Minnie Nash, born 1893, age 17 in 1910 and 20 in 1913, who worked as a cashier at Hibbs Fulton Market 851 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg as recorded on the 1918 City Directory of St. Petersburg, Florida.
  2. Ernest Lee Nash born December 1897, age 13 in 1910 and 16 in 1913, married Eva McConkey, and who passed away in 1934 in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
  3. Ray Nash, born 1898, age 12 in 1910 and 15 in 1913
  4. Mabel Christian Nash, about 1900, age 11 in 1910 and 14 in 1913, who married Frank Dale Rhoads, and who passed away in 1990.
  5. John Nash, born 1901, age 9 in 1910 and 12 in 1913
  6. Fay Nash, born 1903 age 7 in 1910 and 10 in 1913
  7. Joseph A. Nash, born 1905 age 5 in 1910 and 8 in 1913, and who passed away August 2, 1931.
  8. Ivy Nash, born 1906 age 4 in 1910 and 7 in 1913
  9. Nettie Nash, born 1908, age 2 in 1910 and 5 in 1913
  10. Margaret Nash, twin of Marvin Nash, born December 1909?, age 5 months in 1910 and 3 years in 1913
  11. Marvin Nash was age 5 months in 1910 when she was enumerated on the 1910 United States Federal Census for Saint Petersburg, Florida.

Nettie Nash was only age 2 in 1910 as enumerated on the 1910 United States Federal Census for Saint Petersburg, Hillsborough County, Florida, Precinct 37.

Nettie Nash was only age 5 in 1913, and too young to attend Lealman School Number 2 with her siblings in 1913, but she may have attended in 1916 and then Clearview Lealman School in when it opened in 1917.

Nettie Nash lost her father on December 19, 1917 when she was only 9 years old and lost her mother the following year in 1918. She was an orphan by the time she was ten years old, and lived with siblings from 1918 until at least 1930.

Nettie Nash was listed as ten years old when enumerated on the 1920 United States Federal Census for Saint Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida, and living with her parents and siblings. She may have actually been twelve years old.

Nettie Nash may have used the nickname "Deanie", because she is listed on the 1930 United States Federal Census for Saint Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida as a sister-in-law named "Deanie" Nash.

Nettie Nash married in 1938 until 1945 to Warren La F Gideons

Nettie Nash married Mr. Phillips on July 21, 1945

Nettie D. "Deanie" Phillips passed away in 1974 and is buried in Sunnyside Cemetery on 54th Avenue North in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
