William Robert Nelles, born 19 Dec 1800, was the son of Col. Robert Nelles, an officer with Butler's Rangers in the American Revolution.[1]
He grew up in the family home in Grimsby.[1][2]
It was in Grimsby that he and his fiancee obtained their marriage bonds on June 10, 1826.[3]
They were married on June 19, 1826 in Nelson Township, Halton County,[1] where William was a merchant.[3]
