Biography

Elizabeth Neville was born in 1464; Age 22 in Nov 1486. She's the daughter of:

  • Sir John Neville, Earl of Northumberland, Marquess of Montague, Lord Neville de Montagu, Sheriff of Northumberland[1]b. c 1431, d. 14 Apr 1471
  • and Isabel Ingoldsthorpe[2]b. c 1441, d. 20 May 1476

Marriage

Elizabeth married twice.

Scrope of Masham

Sometime before 1477, she married Thomas le Scrope, 6th Lord Scrope of Masham (b. c 1459, d. 23 Apr 1493) before 1477. He was the son of Sir Thomas le Scrope, 5th Lord Scrope of Masham and Elizabeth Greystoke.[3]

  • Alice b. c 1481, d. c 1510

Wentworth

Elizabeth remarried to Sir Henry Wentworth, 4th Lord le Despenser (b. c 1448), Sheriff of Norfolk, Suffolk, & Yorkshire. They obtained a marriage license on 2 October 1494 at Deighton, Yorkshire; 2nd marriage for both. No issue. [4]

Property

Elizabeth was a co-heir of the manor of Shenley Hall in co. Herts.[5]

Will

Elizabeth Neville left a will on 7 March 1514.[6]She wrote a codicil on 13 July 1517.

Death

She died in September 1517; d.s.p.s. and is buried beside 1st husband at Black Friars, Ludgate, London. [7] Her estate was probated on 9 December 1521.[8]
