Christened 9 Feb 1804 in Greenwich, Hampshire, Massachusetts, United States[1]
In the Pioneer Women of Madison, Lake County 1800-1850 it says:
Caroline Newcomb, at the age of eleven, was left motherless, with the care of housekeeping and of three younger children, until at sixteen she was married to Asa Talcott, aged nineteen. They were called the "Babes in the Woods." She raised six girls and seven boys. Four were in the civil war."
Her mother who died was actually her step-mother her father's second wife. He would go on to marry a third time about the time Lenona married Asa.
Leona often used family names in naming her children both for first names like "Bradford" or for their middle names. She bore 13 children in 21 years, most who moved to Fayette Co., Iowa. "Lydia" was the only one who stayed in Ohio where Caroline & Asa died.
