Biography

William was born in 1857. He is the son of Andrew Nicol and Isabella Brown.

In 1861, at age three, William is living at Todshill, Strathaven, Lanarkshire, with his parents Andrew age 47, Isabella age 45, and his siblings, Robert age 20, Christina age 17, Joseph age 15, Andrew age 10 and James age 7.

In 1871, at age 13, William is living at Denalds Land, Todshill, Strathaven, with his parents Andrew age 57, Isabella age 55, and his brothers, Joseph age 25 and James age 17. William is a Seth and Cotton Weaver ( Probably Silk and Cotton).

In 1881, at age 23, he is a stonemason.

William emigrated from Scotland to Australia, at age 27, departing from London, and arriving at Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney Port in Australia on 13 June 1885, on the ship "Cuzco".

In February 1887, at age 29, he departed Victoria, Australia bound for Sydney on the ship "Hohenzollern". The ships master was A. Meier.
