John was born on 4 Sept 1853 in Slamannan, son of George Nisbet and Mary Stewart[1].
He married 30 Jan 1889 Todsbughts Farm, Slamannan, Stirlingshire, Scotland to Sarah (McFarlane) Nisbet (1863-1952) (she was born 31 Mar 1863, New Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland and passed away 15 Oct 1952, 1 Milton Road, Whins of Milton, St Ninians, Stirling Age 89 years)
