Biography

Elizabeth (Noyes) Haynes immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Elizabeth was baptized 19 Apr 1625, Foxcotte, Hampshire, England.[1]

Elizabeth Noyes was the daughter of immigrant Peter Noyes and his wife Elizabeth who came over on the ship the Confidence in 1638.[2][3]

Elizabeth married first John Freeman.[2] Children:

  1. Elizabeth b. 23 Jun 1648
  2. James b. 10 June 1647 d. 18 June 1647
  3. Joseph b. 29 Mar 1645

Elizabeth Freeman married Josiath Haine on 13 November 1649 in Sudbury, Massachusetts.[4] [5][6]

HAINE, Josiah (1623-) & Elizabeth (NOYES) FREEMAN, w John; 13 Nov 16[49], 13 Nov 1646; Sudbury. [7] She being the daughter of Peter Noyes (who also came over on the ship "Confidence" in 1638) and widow of John Freeman. Children of Josiah Haynes and Elizabeth Noyes are [2]:

  2. Thomas b. abt 1656, d. 29 Jun 1656
  3. Abigail b. 30 Nov 1657 m. Hopestill Brown; had eight children: Prudence, Edmund, Caleb, Elizabeth, Hopestill, Sarah, Josiah, and Abigail.
  4. Deborah (twin) b. 13 Dec 1659 m. Jabez Brown; had children Sarah and Josiah.
  5. Sarah (twin) b. 13 Dec 1659
  6. Hannah b. 31 Dec 1660, d. 20 Apr 1669
  7. Sarah b. 28 Sep 1663, d. bef 31 Jan 1698
  8. Caleb b. 19 May 1667, d. 1687 "pressed and so sent a soldier to the eastward, and there died 1687, a single man."
  9. Joshua b. 17 Sep 1669, m. Ann Easterbrook; had three sons all dying young. d. 29 Mar 1757
