Biography

Blanche had pneumonia as a teenager. After that she never washed or even cut her hair. She combed it with a fine bone comb and wore it in a bun. She and Henry had no wedding photo taken, and when Anna Belle was 5, they had their first family portrait that she always referred to as her wedding photo. She was an avid quilter, making hand tied crazy quilts from feed sacks to velvet scraps. All were intricately embroidered.
