Wilfred was born in 1887. He was the son of Walter Oaten and Kate Van Norman.[1] He lived with his mother and grandmother in Barton Wentworth South, Ontario in 1891[2] and in Hamilton, Wentworth, Ontario in 1901.[3]
Wilfred married Ruby Lea Gallagher on 29 Jun 1910 in Hamilton.[4] They lived in Halton, Ontario in 1911[5] and in Calgary, Alberta, with their daughter Helen, in 1916.[6]
Wilfred passed away in 1920 from pneumonia. He was a prominent musician and music instructor.[7]
