Biography

Mariot, was born about 1438 in Angus possibly eldest of the daughters of Sir John Ogilvy of Lintrathen and his wife Margaret Seton Countess of Moray [1]

Circa 1465 Mariot married William Forbes heir apparent of Pitsligo son of Alexander Forbes Pitsligo and grandson of Sir William Forbes of first of Pitsligo.


William Forbes and his Ogilvy wife had issue [2]:

  • Alexander heir to his grandfather Sir Alexander.
  • William Forbes of Daach, who married the eldest daughter of John Forbes of Brux,

On 9 Feb 1466/67 Sir John Ogilvy of Lintrathen and Alexander Forbes of Kynnaldy made a decreet arbitral agreeing that the lands of Meikle Warders were held by William Forbes son and heir apparent of Alexander and his spouse Mariot Ogilvy daughter to Sir John to be held in conjunct fee. [3]

If the only reference for the name Christian is an unsourced self-published tree, then I don't understand why it is her preferred name?
