Rebecca was born 14 May 1728 in New Hurley (Ulster County), New York,[1] a daughter of Hendrick Oostrander and Elizabeth Van Bommel. She was baptized in the Reformed Dutch Church of Kingston, New York, on 19 May 1728. The baptism record gives her name as Rebekka and names her parents as Hendrik Oostrander and Elisabeth Wamboom.[2]
She married Johannes Fort, son of Johannes Fort and his wife Rebecca, [3] at Kingston on 3 December 1749.[4]
