Biography

Nellie was born in March of 1895, in Hagerstown, Maryland. She married her step-brother Fletcher Ovelman before 1918. Fletcher was born in Greencastle, Pennsylcania, the son of William Ovelman and Lilly B. Kuhn. They had 1 child, Richard Leroy Ovelman (1917-1977).

Nellie died August 28th 1969, at the age of 75, two months to the day of her husband Fletcher.

Mrs. NELLIE L. OVELMAN, 75, of W. Church Street, widow of Fletcher m. Ovelman, died Thursday at Western Maryland State Hospital, two months after the death of her husband. She was born and raised in Hagerstown, the daughter of Charles C. and Molly L. Ovelman Orcutt, and was a member of Washington Square United Methodist Church, and the Ladies Bible Class.

Surviving are a son, Richard, Hagerstown, and sisters, Mrs. Ada Fleagle, Hagerstown and Mrs. Margaret Freize, Baltimore.

Services were held at the Rouzer Funeral Home; burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery.
