Biography
My siblings and I were raised on the family farm outside of Choteau, Teton, Montana. I graduated from Choteau High School in 1976. Right after graduation, I went to Patrocinio Paulista, Sao Paulo, Brazil as an AFS Exchange Student. I lived with Helia Figueiredo and her daughters, Sirley, Cassandra and Valeria through that summer. When I got back to Choteau, I really didn't want to go off to college at MSU Bozeman, Montana right away. So I worked at the Teton County Courthouse through that year. First I worked at the Clerk and Recorder's Office and then at the County Assessor's Office. So, in the fall of 1977 I went off to college where I met my future husband, Gerald Pattyn. Gerald was studying Mechanical Engineering and right away we became best friends. We married on June 9. 1979 in Choteau. That summer he worked for Conoco in Billings, Montana as a summer job. I was happy to quit school and work to pay our living expenses while he finished his degree. After classes, Gerald worked for the University on the Magneto Hydro Dynamics (MHD) Project. I also worked occasionally on that project after my job at the bookstore. I worked at the MSU Bookstore until he graduated in June 1980.
When Gerald graduated, he said he didn't want to go right to work as he had started working as a 7th grader, while he attended middle and high school in Billings. So we went traveling to Brazil and to New Zealand. He hired on with IBM in December 1981 in Tucson, Arizona. Our daughter, Karen Pattyn was born November 4, 1983 and our son, Karl Pattyn was born May 14, 1985 - both in Tucson, Arizona. We moved to Longmont, Colorado in August 1985. Gerald was given a temporary assignment at IBM TJ Watson Research Center in Ossining, New York from 1987 to 1989.
We moved out of town Longmont, Colorado in January 1991. Through a series of unfortunate events, our marriage ended after exactly 20 years, June 9, 1999. The kids and I remained at our home in the country until I sold it in June 2006. At that point, Karl purchased a condo in Niwot, Colorado and Karen had a house in Westminster, Colorado.
I moved to Palm Bay, Florida with Evens Colas, whom I married on December 21, 2006. We built a recording studio, Paradise Sound Arts where we recorded music and voiceovers. I had been anemic and it was discovered that I had non-alcoholic liver failure. On Dec 22, 2011 I was given a liver transplant. In 2016 I move back to Colorado to be near my kids and granddaughter, Brooke Lounnivongsa.

Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you have begun adding profiles for the pre-1700 ancestors you have found in your search. Congratulations on getting back that far!
Since you are now back in the time period where many people can be descended from those ancestors, we need more details in your source area. As collaborative genealogists, we need to tell each other our sources so that we can work together to assess the relative reliability of the source and the evidence it contains.
The Sources - Examples section more fully explains what information needs to be included in source citations for pre-1700 profiles.
We're looking for reliable sources to add to the various lists. Would your source be a good addition?
